MGA MID-GRID Webinar | Pew Research – Distributed Energy Resources (DERs)

Brian Watts, officer with The Pew Charitable Trusts energy modernization project, will present recent Pew research on how states can scale distributed energy resources (DERs)—including battery storage, rooftop solar, microgrids, and virtual power plants—to meet growing energy demand and support an affordable, reliable grid. The presentation will highlight examples of how states have advanced DERs and share practical recommendations—such as permitting reform, improving grid access, and integrating DERs into utility planning—for policymakers to scale these solutions to play an enhanced role on our grid.
